Florence + the Machine Unplugged

With all the reality shows and non-video programs on MTV, they must have simply “forgotten” to advertise Florence + Machine’s Unplugged special. You will very seldom ever see me write in first person but from time to time I will make an exception. We’ll just call them my “First Person Moments.” This will be one of those rare moments. I will go on record by saying I am a huge Florence Welch fan. She personifies unconventional beauty and grace. Her cathedral like vocal abilities matched with her contemporary twist on Victorian style separates her from her industry counterparts. Ok, that was my ode to Ms. Welch. Enough of that, back to the MTV Unplugged. The setting was breathtaking. She looked amazing and there was even a Kanye and Q-Tip sighting in the audience. She belted out her own her hits, “The Dogs Days are Over” and “What the Water Gave Me” but she also covered Otis Reddings “Try a Little Tenderness” and Johnny Cash and June Carter’s “Jackson,” two personal favorites of mine. It was a great performance all around. I have to see her live one of the days. I will stop rambling on and on and let you will take in the scene for yourself. *My apologizes for the small videos but they were only thing available right now and this was too good not to share.*

Here are my favorite clips head over to MTV.com to view the show in its entirety.
