June 9th 2012 marks the day that Philadelphia ascends into the national stratosphere. With much buzz circulating from acts such as Paris Artelli , Asaad and now Grande Marshall. Philadelphia continues to flex its musical muscles with the release of Grande Marshall’s newest single. ”The Light is shining on Philly like Gotham City, the city is buzzing.”, says Rapper Saayid Asaad who goes by the rap moniker “Asaad”.
Just a few short months ago Grande Marshall opened for A$AP Rocky in Philadelphia and his music had been featured on our very popular Trill Wave & Trill Wave DEUX Mixtapes. Grande even played a very convincing and energetic hype man for Paris Artelli at our Schoolboy Q show.
Grande Marshall now releases #GODBPM a song that can be looked at as less of an attempt but more of an execution. Grande finds a happy medium between the Philly sound that made him while paying homage to various influences that have accompanied his short-lived career at only 18 years of age. This afternoon Grande Marshall released two versions on his Soundcloud page for the world to digest. The Philadelphia “Uptown” representer says that his full-length project will be available soon, until then enjoy his newest single and expect way more from the #NewPhilly in the coming weeks.
